THE MOVE

Well it is true, you can tell who your friends are on moving day.

I was so greatly blessed both with moving out and moving in. When I came to the moment, I had to admit I was totally overwhelmed. I had spent my last marble. Then thank you my friends Tara, Mandi and Aimee for just stepping in and taking over. I was ALMOST done and if we had been playing horseshoes I may have got points, but ALL!!! of it had to go 😊.

*The Move IN crew were just as outstanding they made sure everything was set up, hooked up and working before they called it a day.

*The Move Out crew were mostly from Focus church where I had attended for 25 years.

*The Move In crew was made up of family and family friends.

My son Matt, my son in-law Chris (Autumn’s husband) and her best friend Renae worked both ends of the move.

I have new sounds in my new house. Some startle me and some make me smile deep down. There are train tracks not too close, but close enough to hear. Reminds me of my childhood, hearing the long freight trains go through in the night. But there is a no whistle ordinance in Spencer…first I thought that was weird until I realized just how many freight trains go through in the night. Like I said it is still rather soothing. It makes me feel like I am ten again😊

The furnace sounds different, and due to no basement, the toilet is different also. It really sounds like an airplane toilet when it flushes😊

The washer and dryer are upstairs, which I was reminded of last night about 11pm when I heard little kid pants with all their belts and buckles. 😊 The dryer took a break, and I turned it back on at 7am😊

I do very much appreciate my new place with NO STEPS. The brand-new large capacity Washer and Dryer are right off the kitchen. Coming in from the garage has no steps, nor does the front door or the sliding glass door. YEAH!!! NO STEPS!!!  My heart and my joints are happy!!

I am very much enjoying my granddaughter and sweet, sweet Wren Elizabeth. She loves to walk outside in the grass barefoot.

I even found a new special prayer place. It is about 15 minutes from the house. It is the county park where I was privileged to marry my granddaughter last May.

It is so very interesting how our memories can just roll out. There were many people at the wedding but when I pulled in instantly I remembered where Autumn’s car was parked that day. Couldn’t tell you for sure where mine was parked but I instantly remembered hers.

There is a nice river that flows behind it. I love the sound of water. It is so peaceful early in the morning. More peaceful than I expected there is absolutely no cell reception for about a mile in either direction. It is in a low valley between two hills. Not big but big enough to hide from the towers.

My granddaughter Jatara was born May 19th on the same day that my oldest daughter Margaret Susan passed away 28 years before. Totally unplanned She was married 25 years later on Margaret’s birthday. I have always felt like some happiness came out of the sad days.

Food for Thought!!

If you have lost your Joy, Peace, your Rest, your Hope perhaps do as we always do when we lose our phone, keys, wallet etc. ASK OURSELVES WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME I HAD IT …THEN GO LOOK THERE. Nobody has the power to take those from us. THEY aren’t really gone PERHAPS just misplaced.

Blessings!  Thanks for Reading!

The way memories intertwine with the present, sounds, places, even the timing of events is truly special. Wishing you peace, joy, and many more moments of barefoot walks, soothing train whispers, and the happiness of a home designed for comfort. What a blessing!
