Pains and Purposes

Two more months have passed, since I sat down to pen

The old year has said goodbye, and the New has stepped in.

Neither of them has the power; to make the other trade it’s place.

We can’t stop that clock or add a second to our pace.

Holidays season is now gone, though celebrations and memories last

Each was the first without Autumn, and marked another year since Jim had passed.

There is something about turning that calendar page, though it’s only been one day

I hung the New, but couldn’t bring myself , to toss last years away.

This year stood for more than numbers, or pictures on a page.

There was a big circle around August 19th, Autumn turned 49 years of age

The very next morning about quarter passed eleven

She breathed her last here and her next was in heaven.

I can’t get frozen in sorrow or fear.

God took them home, and He left me hear.

At times we may feel, does any of it matter

But each hard time survived, adds a rung to our ladder.

There will come a soul, that is now where you’ve been

In their pit of sorrow, without a glimpse of the end.

You pick up your ladder, and lower it down in the hole

And you sit there in silence, with that precious soul.

Now you understand, being here does really matter

You can offer hope to a soul, by just lowering your ladder.

I am adding some photos… all are current parts of my story.

The first is Jim and Autumn about three days before he passed.

If I captioned  (Not good bye, just I’ll see you later.”

The next Thanksgiving 1 year before Jim passed. 2018

My next chapter A Great Grandson will join my GG Daughters!

Great Grandma Hope made posters for their specific areas. I think growing up sharing with 7 sisters …made me appreciate MY AREA 🙂

Wren Elizabeth will soon be 1 yr old. She spends one night and day with me each week. I LOVE IT!!

Blessings! Thanks for reading!
