Recently I was having a conversation with a friend, about the mountains and valleys we face in life. We hear of the trouble’s others are dealing with, or perhaps anticipated things in our own future and say or think, I could never make it through this or that.
It reminded me of a story told by Corrie Ten Boom (a holocaust survivor). During this time in Holland her family hid Jewish people from Hitler’s army. Corrie expressed to her Papa that she wasn’t sure if she could stand up for Jesus and the Jewish people if she was arrested. Her Papa replied “Corrie, when you go on a trip when do I give you your train ticket? Do I give it to you 2 weeks ahead of time” she replied, “No Papa.” He then asked, “Do I give it to you 3 days before Corrie.” Again, she said “No”. “He then asked, “Corrie when does Papa give you your ticket” she humbly replied “When I it’s time to board the train Papa”. To which her wise Papa said, “When you need that strength Corrie, it will be there. God will be faithful and until that time, we must trust.”
I end todays post with a poem (later became a song) by Annie Johnson Flint
He Giveth More Grace
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labours increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed and the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
Fear not that your need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father, both you and your load will upbear.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again
I also love this new song ALL MY LIFE HE HAS BEEN FAITHFUL
As Papa Ten Boom said. Until then we trust!
Blessings! Thanks for reading!
